The black-hole chord

Every gravitational wave ever confirmed, folded to the note it would sound. Each merger's mass sets its pitch — heavier pairs ring lower — and when you stack all 297, they don't scatter. They pile around C#4, a dense cluster just above middle C, because most black holes that merge are roughly the same size. These are the true ringdown tones, computed from each event's measured final mass — the real note the new black hole rang as it settled. This is the sound of the catalog. Press play.
